Poni Group became the first and only company from Brunei to win a Des Prix Infinitus Media Leadership Excellence Awards (LEA) 2022/2023.
Poni Group’s Founder and CEO, Mohd Tahsin Wong Abdullah was an awardee under the category of Emerging Leader of The Year, carrying the Brunei flag into the global arena at the prestigious award ceremony.
The LEA Gala Dinner Night was attended by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Malaysia YB Datuk Ewon Benedick, and held on 15 June 2023 at HGH Convention Centre Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was a momentous gathering of distinguished leaders from the ASEAN and international regions.
The occasion was the highly anticipated third initiative of the Des Prix Infinitus Media Leadership Excellence Awards Gala Night. Poni Group Management Team, Anna Aziz (Chief Business Officer), Dk Nurul Wajihah Pg Asri (HR & Admin Manager) and Naziful Fua’ad bin Hj Muhammad (HSE Supervisor) also attended the Gala Dinner night.
Among the honourees, a few of the prominent individuals recognised for their outstanding contributions were Datuk Dr. Azlan Bin Hussin from Institut Jantung Negara and Anuar Bin Zainal Abidin from Menteri Besar Incorporated (Perak). This event serves as a platform to celebrate the visionary thinking, innovative strategies, and unwavering dedication of all the honourees in driving growth and development in their organizations and industries.

The selection process for the Leadership Excellence Awards 2022/2023 was rigorous and comprehensive. A distinguished panel of industry experts and leaders carefully evaluated the nominees based on criteria such as business sustainability, proven track records, innovative decision-making, community engagement, and overall leadership impact.
The awardees were chosen for their outstanding achievements, exemplary leadership qualities, and their ability to drive positive change. Inaugurated in 2019, Des Prix Infinitus Media Leadership Excellence Awards aims to recognise outstanding leaders and achievements across ASEAN and international regions.
They are an independent and non-partisan accreditation body to help shape and expand the future of local and international communities.
This premier award is open to all top leaders and entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries under five different categories, namely; Passionate Icon of the Year, Community Leader of the Year, C-Suite Leadership Excellence, Innovative Leader of the Year, and Emerging Leader of the Year.
Past winners include Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza binti Tarudin for Passionate Icon of the Year and Datuk Redzuawan bin Ismail Chef Wan as Community Leader of the Year.
