Some 208 Turkish institutions took part in an education fair dubbed ‘The Turkish Scholarship Day’ organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye recently.
The one-day event which was held at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) aimed to connect Bruneians to further their studies in Türkiye, providing information on available scholarships such as Türkiye Scholarships-ASEAN Joint Programs, YTB Scholarships, Mevlana and Erasmus+ exchange programmes, among others.
Visitors also gained insights into the structure of the Turkish education system and the broad range of education opportunities available in the country.
Turkish Ambassador to Brunei Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy delivered a presentation on the scholarships and the general landscape of education in Türkiye followed by a question and answer session with the attendees.
The first Turkish Scholarship Day held in Brunei signals the commitment of Türkiye to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education signed by the respective heads of state in March last year, said the embassy in a statement.
