DST, Ministry of Health contribute medical supplies to patients

DST recently partnered with Ministry of Health (MoH) to hold the Ramadhan Charity Drive, an annual initiative under DST’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ‘Ihsan Kasih’.

A total of 23 underprivileged patients received medical items, including hospital beds, hearing aids, milk supplies and oxygen machines, among others.

This year, DST took a different approach to make a longer-term and more meaningful impact by joining efforts with the Medical Social Work (MSW) Unit at MoH, prioritising patients requiring medical equipment and supplies to improve their quality of life.

The initiative aimed to spread love, compassion and generosity to those in need especially during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Ihsan Kasih Ramadhan Charity Drive was led by Acting CEO of Hospital RIPAS Abdol Hazis Haji Ahad and DST’s CEO Radin Sufri Radin Basiuni, along with members of the senior leadership team of DST, DST team members, officers and staffs from the MSW Unit.

Radin Sufri said that the partnership underscores their commitment to supporting the healthcare needs of underprivileged patients in the community.

“Through ‘Ihsan Kasih’, we aim to unite DSTians in voluntary work, driven by love and compassion, to create positive impacts for Bruneians in need,” he said.

The priority list of patients in need of medical supplies has been carefully vetted and prioritised by the MSW Unit, highlighting individuals who require urgent assistance, covering not only the Brunei-Muara district but also Tutong district.

DST’s charity drive also hoped to address these needs by providing essential medical equipment and supplies to those who need them most.

“We are honoured to initiate this year’s charity drive alongside the RIPAS Medical Social Workers team,” said Radin Sufri.

“Together, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients in need and contribute to their well-being during this holy month of Ramadhan and beyond,” said the DST CEO.

DST hopes that these contributions will alleviate the burden of medical expenses for patients and improve their quality of life in the long term.
