Tourism Malaysia, Royal Brunei Airlines return with ‘Hello Kawan’ holiday campaign

Pack your bags travellers! Tourism Malaysia and Royal Brunei Airlines have returned with the ‘Hello Kawan’ campaign, offering attractive holiday packages to Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

Through the partnership, customers can enjoy comprehensive deals, including seamless flights with the national flag carrier and comfortable stays at top hotels in the Malaysian cities.

Some of the packages comprised a three-day and two-night stay in Kuala Lumpur with rates starting from $418 per person; a three-day two-night-stay in Kuching from $257 per person; and a two-day one-night stay in Kota Kinabalu from $175 per person.

The selected hotels in Kuala Lumpur are WOLO Kuala Lumpur, ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Sleeping Lion Suites Bukit Bintang.

Meanwhile, in Kota Kinabalu are Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, Citadines Waterfront Kota Kinabalu, The Luma Hotel and Shangri-la Rasa Ria Kota Kinabalu.

In Kuching, the hotels are Imperial Riverside Hotel Kuching & Imperial Hotel Kuching, Pullman Kuching and The Waterfront Kuching.

To enjoy the exclusive deals, purchases can be made via seven appointed agencies namely Anthony Tours & Travel, Darussalam Services Sdn Bhd, Freme Travel Services, JJ Tour Service Sdn Bhd, Pan Bright Travel Services, Southern Cross Travel Agencies and Straits Central Agencies (B) Sdn. Bhd.

The ‘Hello Kawan’ holiday promotion runs from June until 31 August 2024 with a travelling period valid until 31 March 2025.

In his remarks, RB Chief Executive Officer Captain Sabirin Hj Abd Hamid said that being the closest neighbour to Brunei, Malaysia has been one of the top go-to destinations among Bruneians.

“Hence, this collaboration will ensure our guests are provided with comprehensive packages featuring both seamless travel and exceptional experiences to various Malaysian cities that RB flies to,” said the CEO, emphasising the safe and hassle-free journey to guests.

He added: “Combined with RB’s renowned hospitality provided by our award-winning cabin crews, and the diverse attractions and wonderful hospitality of Malaysia, our guests can anticipate a memorable holiday, made easy by this collaboration.”

Speaking on behalf of the Director of Tourism Malaysia Brunei Hazrina Azman, the Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Brunei Darussalam Roshdi Abdul Ghani said that the campaign is a partnership that manifests their commitment to forging closer collaborations with their counterparts, ensuring Malaysia remains the most preferred destination in this market.

“Various initiatives have been undertaken by the Malaysian government to rejuvenate the tourism sector in Malaysia and this continuous effort initiated by Tourism Malaysia and RB will indeed drive more Bruneian tourists to flock to Malaysia”, said Roshdi.

In a bid to welcome 1.345 million tourist arrivals from Brunei this year, this campaign hopes to entice Bruneians to explore more of Malaysia. It is also an initiative to achieve the target of welcoming a total of 27.3 million international tourists for the year 2024. In 2023, Malaysia recorded 811,833 Brunei tourist arrivals, reflecting strong pent-up demand compared to 2022.

With the availability of convenient flight schedules, luxurious accommodations and a variety of exciting activities in these cities, the holiday packages offer the perfect getaway for family and friends to enjoy.
