Maju Motors, the authorised dealer of BYD vehicles in Brunei, recently held a private viewing of the two new Ocean Series models, BYD SEAL and BYD DOLPHIN as well as the facelift model of the BYD ATTO 3.
The reveal, which was held at Tarindak D’ Polo in Jerudong to some 400 guests, marked a significant milestone as the BYD brand further expanded in Brunei.
BYD SEAL: high-performance dressed in elegance
With the ‘3.8s’ badge on the back of the 4WD car, the BYD SEAL Performance delivers supercar-level performance, accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
Operating with all-wheel-drive (AWD), the BYD SEAL features an 83kWh battery, providing a driving range of 520km (WLTP).
The BYD SEAL is the first vehicle to implement the Cell-to-Body (CTB) solution, seamlessly integrating the BYD Blade Battery into its structure.
This innovation improves performance and balance in acceleration. Inspired by a honeycomb design for strength and durability, the CTB technology reduces vehicle weight, frees up space, and enhances safety.
It has been tested and passed the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) safety tests with five-star ratings, boosting public confidence in BYD EVs. The advanced CTB solution represents a significant step towards meeting transportation carbon reduction targets.
BYD also exclusively developed the Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) system, which continually monitors wheel speed and motor resolver sensors.
The iTAC offers a new solution by improving wheel speed recognition accuracy more than 300 times and predicting changes over 50 in advance.
The iTAC system can predict the loss of traction and adjust the drivetrain and power pre-emptively, restoring the vehicle’s stability based on its condition and the driver’s commands when a skid is about to happen. iTAC greatly reduces the number of skids, improves vehicles’ safety and comfort, and drastically increases handling.
According to test results, iTAC significantly enhances vehicle performance on low-adhesion roads. Now, even ordinary drivers can enjoy the fun of driving. iTAC is another remarkable achievement from BYD’s innovation in new energy technology, pushing the limits of what is possible when sitting behind the wheel of a BYD NEV.
BYD SEAL Performance comes in four Exterior colours and one interior colour (Thaumas Black): Cosmos Black, Artic Blue, Atlantis Grey and Aurora White.
BYD DOLPHIN: compact and efficient
The BYD DOLPHIN is a 4.29-meter-long entry-level car designed for urban mobility. Its compact size and agile handling make it perfect for city driving, offering ease of parking and manoeuvrability.
The Dolphin is the first C-segment hatchback model to embody the Ocean Aesthetics design philosophy.
Crafted under the leadership of BYD’s Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger, its design draws inspiration from the ocean.
The internal door handles mimic the fins or flippers of a dolphin, and the circular air vents resemble drops of water, resulting in a lively and dynamic style.
Moreover, the futuristic suspended centre console design of the BYD DOLPHIN creates a modern, dynamic driving environment, with metal trim details running across the entire dashboard, forming a beautiful, minimalist curved surface.
Equipped with BYD’s intelligent cockpit system, the BYD DOLPHIN features a 12.8″ intelligent rotating touchscreen, offering Carplay System and voice control, allowing the user to drive without distraction while also adding intelligent entertainment to the experience.
It also comes with world-class safety features, including an Intelligent Power Brake System, Adaptive Cruise Control, 360° View Monitor, Lane Keep Assist, a comprehensive airbag system, and more.
The BYD DOLPHIN is the inaugural mass-produced model incorporating BYD’s ultra-safe Blade Battery. Built on e-Platform 3.0, the short front and rear overhangs and long passenger compartments have a flat floor, giving middle-seat passengers more comfort and space.
When it comes to storage, it has a large trunk space that can easily store four standard 20-inch luggage compartments.
In addition, the seats can be split 60:40, allowing the 345-liter boot to be expanded to 1,310 liters when both seats are folded flat. Its 2700 mm wheelbase sets a new benchmark in spaciousness, significantly enhancing ride comfort.
