GoFeastival aims to promote cashless payment

GoMamam, with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) as the official bank partner, recently kicked off the GoFeastival 2024, featuring 50 food and beverage vendors.

The festival aimed to raise public awareness of digital payment solutions while also highlighting BIBD’s QuickPay numerous advantages, including convenience, security, and efficiency.

The event takes place at BIBD Connects, Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas in the capital from 4.30pm to 12am until 4 August.

Launching the GoFeastival event was BIBD Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Junaidi Haji Masri and GoMamam CEO Hadi Wahab.

During the launch, CEO of GoMamam Hadi Wahab said that the importance of awareness to the public regarding digital transactions is vital to the digital transformation of Brunei.

He further said that the event served to support MSMEs which has been the core of GoMamam since the very beginning.

“We thank BIBD for this collaboration and support that has been given to make this event a successful one, especially during the festivities in conjunction with His Majesty’s Birthday celebration,” he said.

On his part, Deputy Head of the Retail Banking Group at BIBD Junaidi Bahrum said that as the official bank partner, their primary goal with the inaugural GoFeastival 2024 is to create a platform that highlights the advantages of digital payments and supports the Government’s vision of transforming Brunei Darussalam into a smart nation.

“Through this event, we aim to enhance public understanding and adoption of digital payment practices, ultimately contributing to a more interconnected and efficient economy,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Corporate Business Developments, Corporate Banking Group, BIBD, Haji Shamri Hj Mahali highlighted that the event is a part of the Bank’s ongoing initiative through BIBD SME 360 to bolster the MSME ecosystem.

“This is achieved by offering a sales platform to both new and growing MSME companies. The aspiration is that all participants will seize this opportunity to expand their business visibility to the public. Furthermore, it is hoped that the public will show their full support to these MSMEs,” he emphasised.

“BIBD was one of the supporters of DARE’s Proudly Brunei Awards, in which Gomamam was awarded the Startup Award. BIBD is dedicated to supporting high-potential MSMEs, recognising their crucial role in the nation’s economy. We are thrilled to witness these MSMEs develop and soar to new heights,” he added.

At the festival, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of food and beverage vendors, entertainment, and interactive sessions featuring Tummies Kitchen, Pais C Haji, Abang Bob, Avocado Shake, Lena Ice Cream, Yin Yang Cafe, URBN Kitchen, Laze Cafe and many more.

Not only that, but visitors can also explore various digital payment methods offered by BIBD, reinforcing the message of convenience and reliability in everyday transactions.
