Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (Brunei LNG) held its annual Muzakarah event for the Mukim Lumut Liang Community recently as part of its efforts to strengthen relationships with the community.
In his opening remarks, Asset Manager of Brunei LNG Haji Zalani Haji Lalim highlighted Brunei LNG’s commitment to maintaining sustainable operations, continuing to be a major contributor to the national economy as one of the country’s main drivers of growth, empowering the building of future capabilities for Brunei Darussalam.
He also emphasised the significance of collaboration with stakeholders to foster development and progress together, through ongoing engagement with the government sector, industry partners, and community leaders.
As Brunei LNG begins its Turnaround activities, the organisation aims to ensure that all operations comply with stringent legal standards that maximise the safety and social welfare of the population. Other topics discussed at the event include the assurance of maintaining continuous operations for Brunei LNG, road safety, as well as the dangers of encroachment around hazardous, restricted areas.
The Muzakarah also served as an opportunity for Brunei LNG to foster clear, transparent communications with external stakeholders, ensuring they are well informed about the organisation’s achievements, operations, and challenges, as well as holding open conversations through a dialogue session with the event attendees. As part of this commitment, Brunei LNG will also aim to keep all parties regularly updated through existing media platforms.
At Brunei LNG, safety remains a top priority, and robust measures are implemented to protect the employees, contractors, and surrounding communities from potential risks. Brunei LNG will continue to be committed towards similar ventures in the interest of ensuring the well-being of the community in which it operates.
Also present at the session were representatives of the Brunei LNG Leadership Team, as well as key staff members who presented on the journey of Brunei LNG over the last five decades, safety measures being taken during the Turnaround maintenance activities, as well as the organisation’s social contributions.
The event also saw the attendance of community leaders and external stakeholders.
