Brunei Darussalam received some awards at the recent ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards Ceremony 2025 held in conjunction with the ASEAN Tourism Forum in Johor.
The ceremony aimed to recognise outstanding contributions to the tourism sector across the ASEAN region.
The Empire Brunei and Trueliving Spa and Studio were honoured with the 3rd ASEAN Spa Services Award for their exceptional service and commitment to quality within the wellness tourism sector.
Meanwhile, the Temburong-based Sumbiling Eco Village received the 4th ASEAN Community-Based Tourism (CBT) Award, highlighting the village’s dedication to promoting sustainable and culturally immersive tourism experiences while benefiting local communities.
In addition, the Premium Toilet – Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Shopping Complex was awarded the 3rd ASEAN Public Toilet Standard Award for its high standards of cleanliness and facilities, setting an example for public amenities that enhance the visitor experience.
These awards reflect the sultanate’s ongoing commitment to excellence in tourism, sustainability, and community development. They also highlight the country’s significant strides in aligning with ASEAN’s tourism standards and reinforcing its position as a key player in regional tourism.
