Baiduri Bank has been named Best Retail Bank in Brunei at the TAB Global Excellence in Retail Finance Awards 2026, in recognition of its continued progress in strengthening its retail banking franchise through disciplined growth, digital innovation, and a customer-first approach anchored on financial wellness.
According to the award citation, the Bank demonstrated strong retail growth supported by stable deposits, wealth progression, and deep digital engagement. These outcomes were driven by a shift towards advisory-led banking, along with the launch of its Financial Wellness Centre, positioning Baiduri Bank as a leader in financial empowerment.
Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank, Ti Eng Hui, said the recognition reflects the consistency of the Bank’s long-term strategy and its disciplined execution.
“Recognition like this reflects the consistency of our long-term strategy and the discipline behind how we continue to strengthen the Bank. Over the past few years, we have focused on strengthening our foundations, from our core platform and digital capabilities to how we support customers as their needs change,” he said.

Key initiatives contributing to this recognition include the continued enhancement of Emmi, the Bank’s generative AI-powered chatbot, which supports faster query resolution and easier access to essential banking services across digital channels, including WhatsApp.
The Bank has also expanded its digital payments ecosystem through Baiduri Tap2Pay, enabling merchants, particularly SMEs and microbusinesses, to accept contactless payments using NFC-enabled smartphones without additional hardware.
The TAB Global Excellence in Retail Finance Awards benchmark financial institutions against global peers, recognising excellence in retail banking performance, digital engagement, and strategic execution.
