General Manager of the Radisson Hotel Brunei, Miriam Wolber said that it was not the first time for the establishment to conduct the blood donation drive.

She added that the response to the event has been very encouraging, banding members of various communities together for a good cause.

“We had 98 people who were able to donate blood. Around 50 had either too high or low blood pressure and therefore were not able to donate,” she shared.

She added that the initiative was held in response to reports of a low supply of blood at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Bank, which prompted authorities to issue calls for donors.

“It is important for people to donate blood to support the local community and people in need of blood. Especially during the pandemic, throughout the entire world there is a shortage of blood supply for surgeries,” she said.

Moreover, 20 employees and staff members of Radisson Hotel Brunei also rolled up their sleeves to donate blood.
