NBT Brunei Sdn Bhd will be hosting the NBT Trophy 2022, its first-ever golf event in collaboration with the Brunei Darussalam Golf Association (BDGA).
The competition is open to members of the public and is slated to take place from 11 to 13 November 2022 at the Empire Brunei Country Club.
Speaking during a press conference on Friday afternoon at NBT’s corporate office, BDGA Honorary Secretary Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hamid Haji Mohd Jaafar said the event provides a platform for the local golf community to gather and enjoy a fun-filled weekend with a great purpose.
Interested players can now register until 31 October 2022, while slots last, at the counters of the Empire Hotel and Country Club. The fee for the tournament is $160 per person.

“Participants are encouraged to register early as the BDGA anticipates a huge interest, particularly with the ever-growing golf community in Brunei,” said Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hamid.
The tournament sessions will take place on Friday morning, Saturday morning and afternoon, and lastly Sunday morning.
“We hope to hit 300 registered participants but since there are currently only four sessions for the tournament, we can consider opening another one if we receive more participants.”
The tournament is played in a stroke play format over 18 holes with three categories as follows: Men’s Open, Senior (55 years old and above), and Ladies.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the categories: Top 3 Gross Winners, Top 5 Net Division A (0-12hcp) Winners, Top 5 Net Division B (13-24hcp) Winners, Top 3 Senior Winners, and Top 3 Ladies Winners.
Participants can also look forward to the novelty prizes as the main highlight of the event is where players have the opportunity to participate in the “one tournament, with four chances to win a Hole-In-One”.
The prizes include a Lexus RX, Lexus UX, Toyota Cross, and Toyota Raize. Other novelty categories are Longest Drive, Nearest to Line, and Nearest to Pin.
The event will also feature a lucky draw where all participants will stand a chance to win enticing prizes such as return air tickets, iPhone 14, iPad 9, Swatch x Omega watch, Garmin gadgets, Callaway golf equipments, Tumi travel luggage, and many more.
