Progresif partners with IBTE for customer services excellence programme

Progresif is collaborating with Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), School of Building Technology Services to deliver students of HNTec in Real Estate Management and Agency in Customer Services Excellence practical experiences.

The programme that ran from 3 to 31 October was designed to provide the students with first-hand practical experience and the opportunity to develop their understanding of basic business etiquette and excellent customer service, it said in a statement.

The course was led by Talent Management Advisor at Progresif Haji Abdul Azeez DP Haji Abdul Salam.

The programme focused on delivering key customer service concepts and practices while also giving students a chance to practice these skills and share their thoughts through role play and discussions.

The IBTE students, who were undergoing a course on HNTec Real Estate Management and Agency, were taught different dimensions of customer service, which helped increase awareness on the many facets of the customer journey that a future real estate agent would be involved in and also incorporated MIB ideologies in the course.

In a statement, Progresif Chief HR and Administration Officer Mohammad Yazdi Haji Yahya said that they hoped to increase the awareness and knowledge amongst the students via the course on the impact and importance of customer service, not only to their personal brand but to the business or organisation they represent.

“We believe this is one way to enrich their customer service knowledge and give them the confidence to communicate effectively in business transactions,” he said.

On his part, Academic Manager for IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus Shahrimawaty Abdul Karim said that the practical conducted by Progresif is in line with IBTE’s goals of increasing job readiness among students.

“Through this collaboration, students had the opportunity to grow from learning experiences outside of the classroom, while honing their soft skills, such as their interpersonal skills. The exposure to a real-life workplace has also improved the quality of the programme, as more authentic learning elements could be incorporated through this fruitful collaboration,” he said.

Progresif is committed to bringing His Majesty’s vision of Future Ready Youth or “Belia Siaga Masa Depan” to fruition, especially through their intitative: ‘Progress in Education’.

This was also in response to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during the 17th National Youth Day celebration, urging the private sector to continuously support the National Youth Policy and Strategy to meet its targets.
