Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) Medical Social Work Department recently held an event commemorating another year of World Social Work Day.
World Social Work Day (WSWD) is celebrated annually on Tuesdays, the third week of March around the globe. It is a key day in the year that social workers worldwide stand together to advance our common message globally.
This year’s theme ‘Respecting Diversity Through Joint Social Action’ highlights the importance of diversity and working together while celebrating our differences.
The event was launched by PJSC Executive Director Dr Hj Mazrul Adimin Hj Awg Besar followed by opening remarks by Chairperson of the World Social Work Day 2023 Committee and Head of Medical Social Work (MSW) Department Siti Fairuz Abd Latiff
A special video showcasing the campaign cause was shown, marking the launch of the occasion which was then followed by a presentation of certificate to event partner, tour of exhibition and vendors area and concluded with group photo session.
The event will commence for four days with an exhibition showcase and vendors selling their local products.
A special forum will be held on 10 March 2023 at Lecture Theatre, RF Floor, PJSC featuring panelists whose profession is involved in dealing with social problems in the community.
The forum aims to discuss the theme of the campaign, which is the importance of respecting diversity and the impact it can bring to society through social cohesion and continuous support everyone could contribute.
PJSC is inviting the public to join in the forum whereby any interested participant can register through QR Code and link available on PJSC’s official social media account @pjscbrunei
In conjunction with the campaign, PJSC is partnering with Aewon Brunei in selling exclusive hoodies. Limited tumblers are also open for pre-order to the public.
A portion of the sale will be contributed to PJSC Medical Social Fund. The public is welcome to purchase and every little contribution goes a long way to support underprivileged patients in need.
