Neta V: Affordable compact cross-over electric car

Electrifying Bruneians’ road journeys with a smooth and elegant ride, the Neta V has landed in the country offering a new era of vehicle choices.

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Neta through Berjaya Sdn Bhd unveiled the Neta V at the recent 27th Consumer Fair.

Last week, The Bruneian team had the chance to test drive the all-new small but mighty electric vehicle.

The compact crossover is a battery-powered e-SUV and is positioned as a lifestyle, affordable package, swift maneuverability, reliable and environmentally responsible vehicle.

Founded in 2014, Neta Auto is a 100 per cent electric vehicle manufacturer from China with the vision of allowing people to own quality electric cars and advanced innovation equally.

The car company has delivered over 220,000 electric cars to its customers so far across several markets such as Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, Laos and Brunei.

The compact crossover Neta V is the first of its line introduced into the Bruneian market.

Compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, electric vehicles have fewer moving parts and are less complicated to service resulting in potentially lower maintenance and service requirements.

The EV car is packed with a CATL Ternary Lithium battery and has a 38.54 kWh battery capacity and an NEDC range of 380 km.

Moreover, the car is equipped with an alternating current (AC) charger as well as a direct current (DC) charging.

The AC home charging from 0 to 100 per cent relatively takes about eight hours whereas the DC fast charging can go from 30 to 80 per cent in about 30 minutes

When using the home charging, users are also able to set the charging time for the Neta V so they can feel at ease knowing that the vehicle will stop charging on its own.

Other than that, the e-SUV also supports auto lights, LED headlamps with DRLs and 16 inches of blackened rim.

Upon first receiving the keys to the Neta V, it had a unique look and the car automatically started when the key was inside the car.

When driving the Neta V, it had a premium feel with minimal noise and a comfortable smooth ride.

The functions of the car can fully be seen through the informative display that it is equipped with and to power off the car was also through the display.

Overall, the whole journey in the car was a new experience but was very much enjoyable as the EV car had so much to show off.
