Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) companies recently awarded 158 employees for their continuous commitment and contribution, amounting to more than 5000 service years.
In her opening remarks, Country Chair of Shell Companies in Brunei and Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) Agnete Johnsgaard-Lewis, lauded the recipients for their hardwork and talents in powering Brunei for decades.
“Through these years, you have dedicated your time, your effort, and your perseverance every working day to fulfil one mission: to power Brunei”.
She added: “Although it is an accomplishment to discover, it is also an achievement to sustain our business for more than 90 years, while contributing towards realising Wawasan Brunei 2035 in creating a prosperous and sustainable future for Negara Brunei Darussalam.”
Agnete also recounted the companies’ first journey with the discovery of oil in 1929 and how it has helped shaped the companies and country.
Speaking on behalf of the emblem recipients, Shapiee Hassan, shared his career journey from midstream to upstream industry, from onshore to offshore, alongside the many technological advancements and people development in his 40 years of service.
Held at Indera Samudra Grand Hall, The Empire Brunei, the event concluded with the highlight of presenting the long-service award.
In attendance at the ceremony was Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof.
Also present were Acting Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira Pengiran Haji Petra; Acting Managing Director / Director of Human Resource and Administration at Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam Haji Kula Haji Metasan, members of the Brunei Shell Joint Venture Companies Board of Directors and members of the leadership teams from the respective BSJV Companies.
