Thailand Bazaar and Cultural Week returns with 7th edition

The Thailand Bazaar and Cultural Week is back with its seventh instalment, showcasing authentic Thai delicacies, handicrafts and products at the OneCity Shopping Centre until 1 September 2024.

The four-day event was launched yesterday by Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Boosara Kanchanalai and Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) Hajah Tutiaty Haji Abdul Wahab.

In her welcoming speech the ambassador said that this year, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Brunei Darussalam, the Royal Thai Embassy has not only increased the number of booths and varieties of products but also lined up the four-day event with special programs.

“Thanks to the encouraging response from the public, Thailand Bazaar has become among the popular annual events in Brunei, providing an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to showcase their culinary skills, handicrafts and products from Thailand,” she highlighted.

Throughout the four days, visitors will enjoy a variety of products from Thailand such as ready-to-eat food, delicacies, desserts, snacks, beverages, cosmetics, jewellery, Thai silk clothes, and handicraft items from over 50 exhibitors.

Looking to travel to Bangkok? Royal Brunei Airlines and Tourism Authority of Thailand will also be promoting their Amazing Bangkok packages inclusive of RB flight and accommodation priced from BND520 at their respective booths at the Thailand Bazaar.

The event also brought together numerous displays of family-fun activities including Muay Thai, a Thai cooking demonstration, fruits and vegetable carving by Chefs of the Royal Thai Embassy and umbrella painting by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Aside from that, the Embassy will also be screening the Thai comedy horror film, “The Undertaker” at the One Cineplex for visitors to enjoy.

The Thailand Bazaar and Cultural Week is jointly organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion in Kuala Lumpur, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Kuala Lumpur Office, the Office of the Defence Attaché, Bandar Seri Begawan and the Office of Labour Affairs, Bandar Seri Begawan.
